Rainy Days and Crazy Theme Days

Since we've had a few rainy days here and Joe & I have been stuck inside due to allergies, the kids have become creative ~ especially when they are really quiet.  This is what I found one Saturday morning up in Liv's room.  It's a ramp for their mighty beans (in case you couldn't tell).

One Sunday night at Awana, the kids had Crazy Hair night.  We had some extra colored-hair spray from Garrett's MAD scientist party last year.  With Garrett's hair so short, color is really all we could add.  Olivia gathered all the different colored bows and headbands she could find.  She requested 3 ponytails, pink hairspray and all the "decorations".

At school, Garrett has also gotten to wear different things for various events.  Thursday he got to wear his pajama pants!  He was thrilled.  It was a blustery 60 degrees and windy - so of course I packed an extra pair of sweat pants in his backpack in case he got cold.  He didn't need them because "he's tough", but it made mommy feel better knowing he had them if he needed them.

Another thing that has started in our house is Garrett coming home and reading to Olivia.  It's so sweet.  I love when they spend time doing this together.

And while Garrett is at school ~ Olivia has been a BIG helper to me.  Here she is folding and counting 21 washclothes (yes, we use that many in about 5 days).

Looking forward to more rainy days and crazy days to see what these two come up with next time.

  2. Love this, too cute! Darcy is my good washcloth folder, too! And one of my favorite memories is of when Jack learned to read & would read every afternoon to Sophie, so sweet! Now Sophie is reading to Darcy & the trend continues, love it!
Your kids look so cute with their "crazy hair"! Looks like they are enjoying a fun Awana program!
