Our Little Boy Turns 5 !!

Wow - I can't believe I'm actually typing a 5 for Garrett's birthday.  It really seems like yesterday when we brought him home.  After several years of infertility, tests, medications and even surgery, God blessed us with this little man.  He was born at 5:13 am after a long night of labor and weighted 7 lbs 2 ounces.  He has been happy since the day he was born.  He has a contagious smile and loves to talk - (and to think we were worried about him not saying any words until he was 26 months old!). 

He has definitely gone through many stages through his 5 years.  If you were lucky enough to care for Garrett in the nursery, you might have had to change your clothes - as he had a really bad stage of getting sick when he got worked up.  We always joked that he would have to stop getting sick when he was nervous by the time he was 16 and started dating.  Luckily - this stage passed.  He had a pacifier for the first two years.  At two, he chewed through and "broke" his last one.  We said, "Ut Oh, it's broken" - Garrett understood, walked over to the trash can and threw it away - never to miss it again! At four, Garrett is all about Math & Science - always asking to do an experiment or solve math problems - Hmmm maybe a future Purdue engineer in our mist?
