We made space ships out of two paper plates glued together.
We colored the sun & the planets and then laid them out on the floor in their order, then we "orbited" around them.
Mercury was Garrett's favorite because it's the hottest!! We played "hot mercury" and passed the plate around and tried not to touch it for long because it was sooooo HOT.
We talked about Gravity and how gravity is a force that pulls things to earth.
We then played "Balloon Ball" to keep the balloon in the air and not let 'Gravity' pull it down.
Hope you all are having a great week!
~Rebecca
PS To all my blogging friends - I need a 10 min course on formatting!!

Love your new blog, it looks great. The curriculum you are using looks fantastic. I have a field trip idea if you have the zoo passes from wildwnc.org. One of the science centers that is free with the pass is the Schiele Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Gastonia. It sounds like a fun way to learn about the planets to me!
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks cute! There are some really great tutorials out there...I like www.cutestblogontheblock.com and www.shabbyblogs.com. I think there is another one, but I can't think of it now. Just Google your questions & you will be amazed at the step-by-step tutorials out there!
