At the end of the school year, there are moments to look back on and celebrate accomplishments. We've tried our best not to be overly-involved in activities and have a good balance. They were each allowed to pick one activity for the year and we also enjoyed Awana (bible club) at a smaller church closer to home. They've really enjoyed making new friends and seeing some friends at both places.
Here are a few highlights from the year:
Garrett has taken Karate two times a week and has earned three stripes on his white belt. He has improved tremendously in his focus and coordination. Sensei reminded us that although his technique is not perfect - at least he's not falling down anymore when he kicks :)
Olivia has enjoyed gymnastics once a week. It was nice to have something for her to do while Garrett was at school. Once she got used to the coach's Russian accent, she followed directions well and had lots of fun. I still remember the first day of class when the coach handed her a hula hoop and she dropped her head and said she couldn't do the hula hoop. Now she can go over 5 minutes with that hula hoop!!
Garrett & Olivia worked hard all year learning bible verses and putting them into practice. Garrett had a few days at school that other kids made fun of him for praying over his lunch. We had a lesson about persecution and trials that day. Other days he would come home and tell me how he taught some of his friends how to pray because they didn't know how to ~ makes a momma's heart melt - love your spirit Garrett and how every day is "THE BEST DAY EVER" - I wish everyone lived each day like it was their best day ever.
Olivia had a great year as well. She made lots of friends, sang songs and memorized verses on her own. It was a joy to see her reading from her book and really wanting to know what the verse meant.
Great year Garrett & Olivia
keep up your high energy and perseverance
and the sky's the limit!

Congrats to both on some amazing milestones! What great kids to work so hard to reach their goals.
