Family Fun Day

The weekend started out with a quick wash for the van on Friday.

Saturday the kids went to a Karate trial class at Sparks Martial Arts.  They were both really into it until the Sensei started asking them to growl and was louder with his commands.  Olivia cowered with a helper and played shy for the rest of the time.  For the most part they enjoyed it and Garrett will be going back.  Chris did a great job with the 4-6 year olds and really had them listening.  We really like that he will focus on attention, discipline and a non-quitting spirit.

Saturday night we went to church.  We're really enjoying church on Saturday night because then it leaves Sunday all to ourselves!  People have asked - what do you do on Sunday if you don't go to church?  Well, we do everything you do on Saturday on Sunday (with a lot less people out).  And this Sunday was no exception - we announced when the kids got up on Sunday that it was "Family Fun Day".

First we had a big breakfast and then packed it up for Bowling.  They opened up at 10 on Sundays and it was pretty empty - good for us because the kids had never been and we're really excited.

Here's Olivia with her 6lb ball trying to roll it down the lane.

Garrett was so quick - I don't think I snapped one shot of him with the ball in his hand.

Evidence that I was there - actually I won the first game.  I used the bumpers to my advantage to get the ball to hit the pins :)

The girls against the boys for the first game. We actually TIED at 155!!!

Joe did redeem himself by breaking 100 in the second game and winning.

After bowling, we went to one of our favorite spots for lunch  ~ Kristopher's in downtown Matthews.  The kids love it because they have TVs everywhere for sports watching and the food it well - yummy.  Then we headed home for some rest.

Later that afternoon, we headed to the park for some play time and ice cream for dinner.

Last but not least - we managed to get a few games in on the Kinect.  The kids LOVE it and they even got Joe to join in on the gaming.

We had a great weekend and a great Family Fun Day on Sunday!!!  Looking forward to school starting this week and all the other activities that we'll be doing this fall!
